3D printers are great and all, but sometimes it's hard to find applications beyond trinket production. If you asked me what digital fabrication tool in the BAM Space got me the most excited, it would unquestionably be the Pensa Labs DIWire. The DIWire is a CNC wire bender that will take a path drawn in your favorite vector program (Illustrator, Inkscape), and bend it out of lengths of metal rod. A few Neighborhood Nights ago, we used the DIWire to make hand cranks for a session on simple mechanical automata.
